This is a great opportunity to work with a growing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company based in New York City.

This is a fully remote, direct-hire position.

In this role, you’ll be part of a team that promotes customer loyalty and success through content development and delivery.

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven written and oral communication skills with 3+ years experience in technical writing in a SaaS environment.

  • Experience working with a style guide and writing/editing for consistency and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with software and documentation development life cycles.
  • Experience owning and managing writing projects from end-to-end.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

You’ll create and be responsible for customer-facing user documentation as well as other content that accompanies Company offerings.

  • Topic-based authoring with content reuse.  Online Help, User Guides, How-to Guides, FAQs, Quick Start Guides, Glossary, Training Materials, Troubleshooting Guides, and so on.
  • Preferred Writing tools – Paligo, and/or Madcap Flare and Central are preferred.  However, RoboHelp, Dita, and Framemaker also use topic-based authoring and skills can be transferred.  Imaging tools – Snagit, Photoshop, etc.

To create this content, you’ll work closely with product owners, engineers, and other subject matter experts. You’ll define, quality test, and deliver writing projects while maintaining a customer focus and developing your technical expertise.

  • Transform complex technical processes and material into clear and concise, customer-focused, and goal-oriented documentation.
  • Keep up to date with changes to our offerings, our style requirements, customer use cases, and support issues.
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve the quality and consistency of our content.
  • Learn to use our content management system, project management, and issue-tracking tools.
  • Foster and develop team relationships to be a collaborative and transparent team member.

Requirements:

  • Proven written and oral communication skills with 3+ years experience in technical writing in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience working with a style guide and writing/editing for consistency and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with software and documentation development life cycles.
  • Experience owning and managing writing projects from end-to-end.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, self-driven with experience meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Can effectively cope with ambiguity and act without having the total picture while managing risk and uncertainty.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated team player.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to work in Eastern Time Zone.

Nice to Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Editorial experience.
  • Life Insurance background a plus.
  • Experience with the Madcap suite of products is a plus.
  • Experience with Paligo is a plus.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Experience with SaaS applications (i.e. Google suite, Jira, Confluence, Figma, Whimsical, Snagit, and so on).
