Training Manager, Sr. Instructional Designer

Title: Training Manager, Sr. Instructional Designer

This is a Direct Hire role with one of the world’s most admired companies in Northern NJ.

No Remote, must be on site daily

 

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with Learning Strategy as well as extensive hands on Instructional Design for Product (not technical training or soft skills).
  • Retail experience a plus.
  • Requires solid Project Management skills.
  • eLearning authoring tools a plus!

 

The position will create product training curriculum and lead projects related to curriculum, learning methods, tools and processes for developing innovative, efficient and effective product learning solutions.

 

  • Consults and assists senior management to develop learning solutions strategies.
  • Manages deliverables of project teams, ensuring high-quality results within aggressive time frames and within budget and resource parameters. Guides teams through project development for learning deliverables. Creates accurate and concise project plan.
  • Organizes, plans, schedules, and implements all phases of a project from inception to completion.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify training and non-training solutions to address performance gaps.
  • Recommend appropriate training solution to meet business needs.
  • Lead the design and development of content for training solutions including instructional writing, activity creation, training reference materials and job aids.
  • Create and maintain authoring storyboard templates used by content subject matter experts and apply adult learning theory to the creation of training solutions.
  • Develops and maintains constructive working relationships with subject matter experts, stakeholders, peers and management across for knowledge acquisition and content validation.
  • Work with the internal and outsourced external partners to ensure the ongoing development of the appropriate learning solutions, tools and components of training to meet identified needs.
  • Markets/Communicates programs and initiatives to targeted learners for maximum buy-in, awareness and participation.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years’ experience of training program/project management including instructional design including development of instructor led and blended learning solutions. Product specific experience is a plus.
  • Client-facing experience and excellent communication and presentation skills including verbal and written.
  • Team player with a strong customer service and retail orientation
  • An overall in-depth competency with the design and development of instructional systems and learning materials.
  • Experience with development tools such as storyline 2 and captivate are a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within a budget
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • LMS experience is an asset.
  • Travel may range from 10% – 20%.
